Yup, Pony Express still hasn’t arrived at GM’s place in Appalachia. I’m starting to think they took a wrong turn and passed through South Chicago, never to be seen again.

Never is such a harsh term.. I'm holding out hope P32 wouldn't leave a brother hanging..... but, hey.... at least its made some progress.. from being bushwacked in Cheyenne to the gangsta land of South Chitcago...   we have progress... now just bounce a little south.. over the mountains, thru the woods.. down in the hollar, bout half way up the next ridge..  banana time

Wait... in this instance he probably would..
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

I just got one of the Polish Honor Guard stocks, but missing the handguard.  Trying to find a handguard for it.

That'll likely be a long and patient search, likely looking at a lot of handguards. I'd suggest a saved search on eBay and/or GunBroker for: "Russian SKS hand guard" in case someone mis-labels a Russian laminate, and "Polish SKS hand guard".

It's going to be a long 2-3 weeks... I broke down and got one from Marcin. Very nice to deal with and replies in a  few minutes.

Now I need a Polish rifle! chuckles1

I hope it works out for you Rotor, a lot of items ordered from eastern Europe have been confiscated as of late by Customs.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

I hope it does work out... I'd hate to lose that stock to customs. I hadn't thought about that.  :o

Marcin is great to deal with  thumb1 I had an issue with a shipment of posters from Russia being rejected by US Customs a couple of months ago. Didn’t cost me a penny but the seller lost their shipping cost. There’s no way I would order gun parts, or anything, from Russia right now. I doubt that you’ll have any issues with an item from NATO ally Poland.

Thanks! The only thing I did to the stock was internal fitting, nothing external.

:)) Yes, I guess I could have had a bit of extra fun with the guessing game  ;)

I’d already upgraded my ‘54 Izhevsk slot :) so it was good fortune that I was slow in selling off this one, as it turned out to be a good donor for the Polish stock.

So did Poland restock Russian SKS to make these? Or did they manufacture anything else or entire gun?

Anyone know about Hungarian and other countries' honor guard? I know the Croatian were just 5966 with the emblem in stock.

Poland never made an SKS, just the stock. They bough Russian SKS-45s and restocked them. They may have chromed the blade bayonet too.

There are credible rumors of Hungarian made parts for the SKS, but they didn't make receivers or whole guns.

The Slovenian Protokol and Croatian Honor Guard rifles were Yugoslavian M59/66-A1s, as you pointed out for the Croatian. The Slovenian Protokol rifle has a new stock and handguard with chrome-plated bits, so different but really just cosmetic changes.
