I won a pair of Russian SKS-45s at RIA a month or so ago. They arrived last week and I'm not disappointed. I'd call this a relatively light refurb. The deep bluing on the cover still has the two-tone coloring visible. It has the 75th ABV, Leningrad, refurbishment facility marking on the top of the cover, but it looks like they tread relatively lightly, at least on the metal. The stock appears sanded by the Russians given the faint Izhevsk cartouche and the rounded grasping grooves, but I'm quite happy to have a stock with a visible Izhevsk cartouche  8) Numbers match.

Congratulations Sir! It's a super nice example and Izhevsk stock is a huge plus!

Holy smoke ! You been on a roll. Beautiful darker 54 as protocol for the izzys as the Darker seem to lean 54 and the blond seem to lean more 53. Good Going and thanks for sharing. :-*

Thanks DC :) I do like those darker Russian red stocks. You definitely need to dig it out and post it!  thumb1

Read the posts on your 53 Tula and this one.  Nice looking carbines!!  The thing that struck me was that they transliterated the characters in the serial from cyrillic to English on the Izhevsk.  Great finds, Jon.  Color me green wink1.

Thanks Bruce!  Yeah, that was common practice for Century. The CDI ('53 Tula) didn't have that since they made up their own serial number...and billboarded across the right receiver rail, meh.
