Fixing the droop

Hello all,
     
Ever since picking up my SKS from Classic, I've been considering a blade bayonet to make it complete. The spike I have was slapped on somewhere along the line, and has always drooped.

I've been up down and sideways trying to find a fix, to no avail.

Should I find an affordable blade, I'd most likely snap it up, but if I do...will it droop, too?

I've attached photos for reference...what do you think? Is it a problem with the mount itself?

You have a spike bayonet on a blade gun.
Albania wasn't known for doing things right....

There is even a chance it has an Albanian bayonet collar/handle...which doesn't work on anything but an actual Albanian SKS....but from what I can see, it's just the wrong bayonet.

If you tell us what millions your serial number is, it can be confirmed. I will bet dollars to donuts that it is 8 million or less...or a very early 9 million. Possibly even a letter gun, where the first placeholder in the serial is, you guessed it...a letter.

Yeah, that spike definitely doesn't belong, it's a replacement.

Serial is 59XXX, when I first posted up pictures, the hive mind concluded that mine is a 1956/1957 manufacture based on the serial number and no Chinese markings whatsoever. Here's that post:

Hey echo83, you should be able to use the existing collar and spring so I would try and find a blade sans those parts as it, hopefully, will save you a few ducats. If it droops after installing the blade you can more easily find NOS collars and springs on GB or Ebay. Also, Polytech parts should have them.

On the spike that's on there, are all the grooves the same or is one of them considerably slimmer?
I am wondering if it's perhaps a heavily worn Albanian spike with most of the bluing gone. If that's the case, it would still droop because the handles don't work with Chinese.  There is a chance an Albanian handle was used when they replaced the blade...even if it is a Chinese spike. Considering the amount of bayonet chaos seen in the Classic videos...it makes me wonder if when these were put into storage, someone was attaching random bayonets all willy nilly.

I would shoot for getting a blade with the handle and spring...

One other thing I thought of, how tight is the spike bayonet to the stock right now? If it is loose and sagging as it is then that is the wrong collar and then yes, you should get a new collar and spring as Justin mentioned.

So from everything I'm hearing, just get a blade with a new collar, and I should be all set. Most of what I have seen for sale includes a collar anyway.

Yeah, pretty much, I sold one on Ebay a while back for $187.50. Think I set a record, LOL. Problem is ,I now have 3 barreled receivers to build up and all of them require blade bayonets to be totally accurate. Probably going to set 2 up with spike bayonets because that is what I have in the way of bayos and stocks, then maybe bubba the 3rd.

$65.96 USD, but shipping to the US is about $33 USD extra. I picked up their last black blade Russian bayonet, then checked the site to see they have the regular blade and parade blade, too.

The black blade I got is in immaculate, probably unissued condition, but more importantly...the droop is fixed, along with my bayonet OCD!!
