I think I am going to sell this interesting piece soon. Just bought another 1948 receiver cover and a much more interesting 1946 year labeled receiver cover. Both are non-demilitarized.

You can't just drop that and not show photos of the '46!  dash3

Never seen or heard of anything like that.  Possibly a cover from a trials rifle like a SKS arr.1943?
