I pick these two up as part of a larger deal last year. I got a total of something like six Russian SKS is and SVT 40's and some Mosins. I basically got everything the guy had paid for them back in 1991. It was a phenomenal score and in hindsight, I wish I still had them because the prices of fun all of the stuff seems to be skyrocketing. Anyway I sold many of the others at a very high profit and use the money to buy a Honda pioneer 1000-5 side by side. Which has giving me many joyful experiences. Anyway there was some other threads about some of the 1950s SKS is in even though I think I posted these when I joined the forum a year or so ago, I thought I would repost these for anybody interested and serial number or anything else. This first one is my early 1950s and it is all matching numbers except for the stock is force matched and the paint job on it has the barbecue paint. If you'll notice the gas block it is at a straight right angle and the bayonet is more shiny than anything I've ever seen on an SKS.

The barbecue paint job makes it really difficult for my iPad to get a good focus on the Tula star and the early 1950s stamp.

The other-later 1950 in a laminate stock all matching numbers. I forgot to mention that both have mirror shiny bores. I believe both 1950 models didn't have chrome lined barrels?

Really Nice early and late '50s
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Thanks y'all. They're the only two rifles in the safe that I keep in protective sleeves.

Interesting...another double pinned Russian stock.
Does anyone know what is up with that? I have one that I bought just because it was weird.
I have only seen that three times now, but they all appear to be done in the same way...making me think it was on purpose vs. a bad piece of wood.

Very nice SKSs you have there. :)

Very nice early and late 1950 rifles!

BTW, could you please post pics of your SVT-40 too? (in milsurp rifles section) Thank you!

Soon depending on election results. If Bidet win, they're all going boating with me.

Double pinned? Are you referring to the two brass pins in the stock?

Can you not tell? I am having Russian man voice today. Played with Russians Cossacks in my borscht. Damn, I am angry at happy little people of the Steppe....they have much freedom on little ponies.
Super minty borscht Monsieur non Plinki
I wonder what the two vs one pin is all about...another mystery evolves....
