I saw the S/N on extractors of my 1949 and two early 1950 are all e-penciled on the inside face of extractor, please see the attached pics. While all 1951 and newer in my collection have s/n e-p'ed on the outside of extractor. I wonder if it is another early feature? To those who have 1949 and early 1950 (with 90 degree gas block), could you please check if yours have the same feature? Thank you!

I checked my 50 with spike and it is e-penciled on inside only. On my other 50 with blade with 45 degree gas port, milled eyelet latch cover, engraved tula star and date, it is e-penciled on both inside and outside. Added more information about 50 with blade, so as to see when change was made.

Just double checked my early 50 with 90 degree gas port. Only electro penciled on the outside of the extractor.

Just my '50 has EP'd on inside of extractor (photo). I checked a '51 refurb and '51 Queen and they did not.

Thank you very much everyone! So this may not be an early feature at all. Interesting to know.

We'd need to connect more dots to figure out where and why it was done. I'm thinking it might be related to the specific standards of a specific refurbishment facility.
Perhaps the inside EP's only was standardized at one or a few different locations, but obviously not all.
Just spitballing here.
Thoughts?

Mine 1949 has a s/n on the side. The top of the side and is barely seen when in the bolt.
