I purchased this back when century first got a hold of some that were importable (2012).
The first one they sent me had a ruptured case stuck in the chamber, but the replacement was an all matching (less stock) s/n# 2403598 /26\.

The stock in came with was non matching, abused and broken to the point of unsafe to shoot. Not sure how the rest of the parts managed to stay together but they did.
Anyways, I'd found a later model "Norinco looking", blondish (not orange), non serial, blade bayonet cut stock and put that on it.

I'd like to try to find a more correct replacement if i could but not sure what to look for... the descriptions i read mention a different looking wood, maybe or maybe not a side sling swivel... etc.

some pics would be great for the clueless please

thanks in advance,
B

Should be a long collar blade bayonet cutout w/sling loop on the bottom of the butt of the stock. I have several coming in from some recent parts kit purchases. I may be able to hook you up, but need to receive, inspect, and see what all I need to keep first. I am thinking I will have a darker color one w/o HG that may work though.(just off the top of my head)

Go here on our sister site SKS Guide. The link is for the page on 2M 1957 /26\ SKSs. It shows the stock: http://chinesesks.weebly.com/1957-2mil.html
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Here's my all matching 2nd year carbine, with a DIY Albanian sling:

Thanks for the link and pics, they are a lot of help.

GG, I would be interested in seeing what you have when the time comes.

Boris, nice rifle....  and nice to see an example that has a serial number so close to mine.
Great reference.
