Looks good and solid now GG!  Did you wind up doweling it and using tite-bond after all?  Nice job.  thumb1

Tite-bond and clamps, no dowels. Decided the thickness in front of the cross-bolt, or lack thereof, was a little prohibitive. Besides I was too lazy to go find dowel rod that thin. Guess I could have used a round tooth pick, but I didn't think of that until just now, LOL. Maybe if it comes apart again I'll try the tooth pick idea.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Looks pretty good, GG.

Always nice to see folks breathe new life into one of the old ones.

It looks good.    The perfectionist in me wishes it was lined up better near the top of the stock but if you sanded it flat and refinished it would be near impossible to see from the outside.

Yeah, realistically it is most out of alignment right in front of the cross-bolt, but the rest went right together so I went with it. Also, it finished out clean enough not to have to refinish it so I was happy with the outcome overall.
