Larry D.

By the way, that mag is worth a few bucks all by itself.

I agree with Larry, those mags have certainly increased in price.   I've got one on a Paratrooper and I still can't tell whether I love it or hate it :-\.  It does function well, though thumb1.

"Simonov called it a carbine, so it's a carbine!"

But did he call it a Car-bean or car-byne? rofl

He called it a карабин  :)

I'll go with rifle cause I'm lazy, fewer letters.  Besides, switching to Russian font every time?

After firing the Chinese x39 rounds that you have, did you clean the gas tube, gas block, and gas piston thoroughly? That early Chinese ammo was pretty corrosive stuff. Many folks didn't know about it and put their carbines away after shooting. It can sure mess up a nice firearm!

yes I know a guy, he warned me so I gave it a clean at the range, washing/clean/oil after getting home, clean/oil next day etc.  Really good shooting ammo but way to intense to clean, that's why I quit using it.  I thought about selling the remaining can but then thought it's part of my starter kit so just call it a collectable.

Greetings, I have your carbine's older sister, a 2309xxxxK as well.

Great SKS for sure....not to rib you or anything on your intro post....but I gotta....
Your bayonet is on upside down.
:)

Nice, the bayonet had been off for years and I never gave it a thought when it slipped right on that way, a quick fix, though I doubt anyone that ever got afoul of its intended purpose gave much thought to whether it was upside down or not!

Nah, blood is designed to run downhill and that would just stop it up prank1 :).
