An apology and an "AI" story

First I want to apologize to Cz315 and MikeK for not responding to their questions. I'll do better! Just been really busy the last 5 years or so, and stupidly depended on the Boards, and we all know how that worked out.

Second is an AI story that happened to me.

I was working on a customers Win 100 .308 that would not extract the empty shell from the chamber. During my diagnosis the Gas Port and Piston were cleaned and that at least allowed the Bolt to lock back after "last round." That's when I decided to find out why I had heard for years that you should NOT open Gas Port hole in Win 100"s.

I opened my "Brave" browser and typed into the address bar, "why not open gas port hole in Win 100?" The top of the page that came up indicated this was an AI response. But it said the Win 100 was not a "gas operated rifle." It said it was a "fast recoil" operated rifle. What?!!!!
I showed the response to Zach and we laughed about knowing more that AI.

Then I noticed near the bottom of the page, "Ask another question." So I, in an effort to really challenge AI asked, "Are you stupid?"

Immediately a new page appeared saying "there has been an error in the system, the Win 100 is a Gas Operated Rifle," but never did answer the original question about opening the Gas Port. 

So if any of you think AI is the expert about anything and everything, think again. I'm a dumb old Gunsmith and I proved it wrong.
