I'm thinking about shortening the screws that hold the sling mount and making a plate that they could screw into. That would pretty much eliminate the stripping worries.  I am considering using this for my Chinese AK mag variant build....but do not want to cut into it at all, so we'll see how that goes. It seems like a fairly stout design. I have never seen that diamond 254 mold broadcast before (not that it means anything)
