Picked up this thing over the weekend to put on my type 56 /636\ , cost $15. I'm not sure if the guy made it himself or if these are for sale somewhere but it is very handy to throw on your rifle for walking in the woods or hunting. Holds 3 Clips tightly or two comfortably.

I can see where that would be handy.  I typically have one of these stashed away in various places:

East German 3 cell grenade pouch.  I can fit 70 (2+3+2) rounds very comfortably or 90 (3+3+3) rounds if I stuff them.  Sarco was practically giving these things away a while back.  $3 each with free shipping over $25.

Still needs to be carried whereas yours is always on the rifle.  thumb1

Running man, is that one that you would put on your belt?

running-man

Yes, it has loops and also has hooks for some type of system I'm not familiar with.  With 90 rounds it's a bit on the heavy side.  With only 30 rounds I bet you wouldn't even know it was there.  I typically keep them in glove boxes, in my backpack, in my camper's closet, under the back seat of the truck, etc.  Anywhere I might need some extra rounds.  Makes it nice that I don't have to grab any extra ammo beyond what's already in the magazine when I pull & load a ranch gun out to go out, I always have extra ammo stashed away and available for when it's needed.  Any pack that gets run through temp extremes gets shot off at the end of the year and replaced with fresh ammo.  The pouches have held up surprisingly well.   thumb1

$30 after shipping isn't bad. They are available on Amazon too.
