I have been researching the odd /906\ Chinese SKS that I recently acquired and found a pdf article called "Chinese Arms Production and Sales to the Third World" by Richard A. Bitzinger from 1992. It's around 50 pages and contains a lot of good information. Some/most is probably already known, but I enjoyed reading it and wanted to share.

I can't access it.  pullhair1

You may have to make an adjustment on your computer's settings. I double checked the link before I posted it (by emailing it to myself to make sure it would work) and clicked it again from the thread after reading this and it works for me. Sorry...

I could access it this morning.  Appears the website is having issues this afternoon.  Give it a few hours, I'm sure it'll come back up.

Neat read on Chinese exports.  I think the RAND guy's conclusion of "The Chinese can copy Russian systems but can't innovate and they are losing market share to other third word competitors like Brazil" came back to bite him from when he made it in the 90's.  Chinese arms exports are robust today and they have some pretty decent technology innovations on many of their weapon platforms.  Not saying they are on par with the American or even Russian defense industrial complex, but they certainly didn't peter out and fade away...

I'll have to read this in my spare time next few days.... Thanks for the link!

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Found them by chance during my research trips on the interwebs. Lots of Chinese rabbit holes out there...
