The Canadian AK mag section is up. Let me know what you think.

Canadian collectors are encouraged to send pics and start a dialogue with us on these rifles. I would like to narrow the import dates and any information on the importers.

16.5 inch barrels are allowed in canada to correct your opening line. They are just classified as restricted which means you need a restrict class gun licence, and can only shoot it at an approved gun range. Also need to register them.

Semi auto centre fire rifles with barrels longer than 18.5 inches are considered non-restricted, can be shot outside of a range and don't need to be registered. Hence why 16.5 aren't too common here. No advantage to having them outside of collecting.

Bayonets are just fine in canada. No restrictions.

The bayonet less sks-d in the photo is a restoration and in that photo is fitted to a spike bayonet sks-d stock. It has since been fitted with a proper non cutout stock.

30 round mags became prohibited in the mid 90s. Mags are still up here but must now be pinned to limit their capacity to 5 rounds.
