When I was having primer problems of course the first thing I did was change out to the spring loaded pin.  That spring got fried.  The pin is fine and I do have replacement springs.  Since I got Murray's Gunsmith Shop's neck and throat job I'm using the original Yugo pin.  But my question is can't we also use this Murray pin as free floating without the spring?  Looks like we can use it both ways.

Great question.. I guess you could pm Murray. Have you tried installing one into the bolt yet ?  I have a few of them also so this would be good to know..

Yes, they act like a regular floating pin without the spring.  Just never tried it on a live round.

I'm pretty sure you can use it without the spring.  Prolly best to just contact Murray to be certain.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Murray confirmed it can used as a free floater though he doesn't recommend it.  He did not elaborate why.  Probably because it defeats its design to prevent slam fire.

There you go...  Thanks for the update.

Like your avatar.  When I was young I was a big Elias fan.  As I got older and watched the movie again I realized Barnes was right all along. :)

I was always a Barnes fan.  In my eyes, Elias was alway a little punk.  That may have come from having a grandfather and a uncle that served in the USMC, though.  My younger brother is in the Corps, as well.  I also have a cousin in the US ARMY, which was to be my branch of choice.
