GB listings for December, 2015 - Chinese Military

94 Type 56s this time around.  $205.00 low, $880.00 high, $370.39 avg.  For the second time in a row, auctions this month were an absolute travesty .  It's simply not worth my time to track the Chinese guns on GB, there are too many horrible Bubbas out there that are selling all over the place.  I'll reevaluate things in the Jan listings, but this may very well be the final Military Chinese GB listing on SKS-Files for a while.

Please feel free to post up any feedback (good or bad) to any one these entries.

If you have an objection or observation to add to anything I've listed, by all means call it out.  Let's all look at it long and hard (I only look at each listing for a minute or two at most, I miss things all the time and as I continually try to remind people: we simply don't have all the answers, no matter how good we'd like to think we are) and maybe everyone can learn a thing or two including me!

The $880 non import gun.  I dont think it should be quite that high but it is in pretty darn good shape for what it is.  I dont think a story was a big price factor.

Here's a question.. 

Has anyone ever seen a later non /26\ or even a late /26\ gun that is non imported (my Iraqi excluded)?  I'm talking about one with a matching serial receiver cover as to eliminate the possibility of swapping the cover on an early century gun where the import stamp was on the cover...

In all my years, I have never seen any evidence of an importer failing to mark a gun.

I got the Jilin gun.  It is extremely nice, ACTIII import.  Unfortunately, the seller decided to ship it in a box that was 1" too short so it arrived with the barrel sticking out the end and, yes you guessed it, a cracked stock at the wrist. 

This makes 3 guns this year that were damaged in transit.  All poorly packaged and all sellers blamed it on rough handling by the carrier.  The Jilin seller speculated that "the rifle was thrown by anti-gun people in your area".   I replied perhaps, since they probably didn't appreciate staring down a protruding barrel during handling.

Wow that's some terrible luck right there.  A good many GB sellers who should know better simply don't take the time needed to pack things properly or they don't make an effort to secure a proper sized box or proper packing materials for what they are sending.  Even the big retailers are guilty in this regard.  I can't tell you how many times I've personally seen or heard about bolt carriers sticking through the sides of boxes.  RTI is notorious for this...

So what did you decide to do with it?

I'm keeping it. The seller offered to send another unnumbered stock but I told him don't bother because I want the original stock. I Hope a gunsmith can shoot some glue and stabilize the crack.   

I wasn't even counting the boxes that had both carriers sticking to the side LOL .   That has happened a few times.
