I personally wouldn't touch it with all the extra information in those subsequent posts.  The original (edited) post by itself is straightforward enough though.

Some people just like to hear themselves talk and want brag about how good of a deal they got or what rule they didn't follow.  Meh, I don't like dealing with guys like that anyhow...

I would have to agree with RM.  Again.     banghead2

What happened 15-20 yrs ago could be myth, story or possibly the truth, or simply spiced up to increase interest and pimp value. Given it's basically a publicly open admitted straw purchase/boarderline stolen, it may be an ATF agent fishing for undesirables. If you like the deal and and possibility some of drama, go for it thumb1  :o, but, insist on a bill of sale and ask to see the seller's ID's.. At least cover your arse. If the seller won't comply with those two simple requests, run, don't walk, that thing really is hotter than a high dollar whore on Friday night. Me, personally, I wouldn't touch it with a 10meter cattle prod, sparks could blow out the stock, nope, no interest after reading it, I wouldn't even look at it.

As for registration, every state is different, there is no registration in Va, with the exception of Class 3 NFA weapons and items. Long gun FFL purchases are held on a 30day rolling list, an FFL purchased hand gun, I believe it's a 20yr rolling list. So with a long gun, on day 31, your off the list.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

That stock looks really light for an original 11 mil....

What are the laws for personal long gun sales in Georgia? There are states that don't require a NICS check if two parties decide to sell a long gun between them. If that's the case in Georgia then it seems like it could be legit, but the way the seller phrased it did sound a little sketchy.

The guy came back and clarified the situation:
"If someone were truly interested in the rifle, I would have no problem at all PMing photos of the S/N, I also have no problem meeting at a PD of your choosing close to you so you may check S/N before exchange is made. Again, let me say, I have checked this rifle twice! Both agencies gave it clean bill... believe me I had the same questions all of you have!"
So he seems to be on the up-and-up, but it sure looked suspicious for a minute there !!

Not to me it dont.

Maybe it's just the picture lighting. It looks almost blonde to me, kind of like a "D" stock with the Tung oil finish.

HMMMM   looks good from afar, but it is far from good.
Freedom is not controlling others. That would be tyranny.

I have a 11 million /26\. That stock is too light and where is the bayonet? All of them with those numbers like mine have the spiked bayonet. No fixed ten round magazine either.
