Pretty happy about this one. I'm not sure I've seen an SKS with this much cosmoline....lol.  I hope there is no surprises under it....but it looks good. I was able to locate an ON-2 scope with some help from a fellow board member....but now I need to still locate the mount with rings. I'll be holding onto this one for a bit!

Nice catch!   Most of them are m59s

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Yeah...that's what I'm talking about... thumb1

Mmm, Cosmoline.  That looks like it'll be a beauty when everybody's favorite brown goo is melted and dissolved away.

Please post pics when you get the vintage glass on it.  That ought to be a heckuva lot of fun.

I certainly will.....I am very curious what sort of consistency I can attain at the range with this set-up.  Should be fun.

Neat one Pat!  thumb1

Who is the importer on this one?  Only time I've ever seen a restamped S/N on the receiver of a yugo is a CAI restamped serial number '7' gun.  chuckles1

Awesome find as usual for you!  thumb1

I'm not sure yet on Importer.....maybe one of you can tell.....looks like CAI to me.

Nice, still covered in loads of grease!  thumb1

I'm going to say that it's #8 on the Yugo importers list I was just adding to.  I'm calling them the last of the CAI's imported based on the text progression:

MOD.M59/66A1 7.62 X 39 ZASTAVA,SERBIA
C.A.I. GEROGIA VT.

The more is see this one, the more I like it Pat.  Very nice find!  thumb1

Power Surge

That's quite interesting. That's the same mount used on some of the PU sniper Chinese models...except it's backwards. Anyone know what the accompanying scope mount looks like?

It's the Zrak ON-2 mount...same one that is mounted on some  M59's.

padams8888

Received it today...and indeed....holy cosmoline....Nothing really new to report. It's interesting about the double serial number stampings/dot matrixing. I have not broken it down yet...because quite honestly......I stick to it when I handle it.... :)  I'll clean it up tomorrow morning.....I found no TRZ or TRZ-1 on the stock.....but did find this under the rear sight leaf.....

and the lock nut on the scope base looks different than the one on my M59....

padams8888

:o I am going to have nightmares about cosmoline......... :P
About 99% removed....need to hot bag it to seep it out. Pretty good shape under all of that.....not perfect, but nice. I'm thinking there is SOMEONE out there with an ON-2 mount that needs to re-home it..... :)

Looks great...  Cant help with the mount.
