AK mags on a Yugo?  :o

I was about to suspect full bubba involved, the mag convinced me otherwise before spouting off....love the stock too.

Well...you could really make any SKS take AK mags. Some of the commercial AK mag guns are re-arsenaled conversions. The front of the AK mag just locks into the lip in the receiver under the chamber, and the mag latch is actually part of the trigger assembly. So pretty easy really.

That is a cool SKS variant and a great site GM! The actual TRZ website  8) It's interesting that according to the Home page TRZ has had to support itself, or at least compete for government contracts, since 1973. Given Serbian laws restricting civilian ownership of semi-automatic "assault weapons" to those designed for hunting purposes I wonder if that's a design, or overhaul option, that TRZ markets to the civilian populace. The juxtaposition of the rifle and soft point hunting ammo (PPU, no doubt) suggests this hunting purpose. I'd be proud to have one in any case. It's not bubba in my book if a state arsenal makes it  :)

Yea...that's what I'm talking about. I like that!

As A purist at heart, I can appreciate the beautiful work done there.

Well boys and girls there is a lot more to this story. At the end of (military) SKS production at Zastava they continued to market the SKS as a sporting rifle in two versions. The first version was a standard M59/66 with grenade launcher and a non traditional serial number sequence. Yes these are the IO rifles. and the LPK-66.

This pic is from there website from around 2003

Note the 5 round mag and AK style scope mount. A couple years later all SKS's disappeared from there website.

It seems the LPK-66 came from the Zastava custom shop. the custom shop would build rifles for select individuals.

This was the first series of pics I found and just blew them off as Bubbas work.

Note the M-76 scope and the usual front sight.

Can't remember where I got these from.

Check out that custom scope mount. That mount is made out of the uber rare ON-2 mount.

Then I stumbled across these.

The guy that posted these  claims to have built this contraption himself. I just had a hard time accepting that.

Outstanding custom work.

Then along comes this guy. He states the rifle in these pics was built just for him at the custom shop and was one one of a kind. This is the guy than came up with the story of the custom shop.

Nice finish on that stock.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Nope...  He was a Slavic crook.  Or, he shipped it but it simply never showed.  I'm leaning towards crook.
