It's crazy to think such beautifully carved, crafted & finished chunks of birch may have been done by kulaks, wreckers and other gulag denizens.

I just looked up old posts from the other forum, I bought my first Russian on April 14, 2013 that happened to be the 53 Izhevsk as-issued off of armslist for $550 shipped, funny thing is I seen the ad and it said Izhevsk for sale with a single crappy pic, I bought it not knowing it was a 53 or that is was as-issued......That was what started the russian obsession!!
