I've checked out this site a couple times now and really like the layout. Easy to read and navigate. I haven't had the chance to read many threads, as yet. But with the member names that I recognize here, I'm liking what I see.
My chief interests are the Simonov and the Kalashnikov platforms. So many variations to learn about. And I like to increase my knowledge of all things that go bang.
Up front and honest...I may make a mistake, or two.  I try to use good grammar and spelling, but have been known to screw up occasionally. If I have an idea about what I "think" is true about the SKS, or whatever, and it's wrong, please tell me. I'm not an ego monster or non-adaptable. I  just want to learn more about the Type 56 and all it's features, history, and new ideas.
Thanks for the admittance to the board. I'll try to give back in any way that I can. I'll probably ask questions at first. (Maybe for a while). How to post pics, etc. Thanks in advance to all those who help and supply info around the board!

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

We need to go shooting! I vote for Scrivner Conservation Area or Finger Lakes/Rocky Fork...

Hey FiirstChoice!  Glad to see you made it over!  Would love to see you post some of the unique specimens you've got as I know they'd be of great interest to lots of guys on this board.

I'd like to think this place is nice and laid back.  Nobody is going to jump on anybody's back if they call a gun a 'Norinco' or somebody uses the term 'dust cover' (well maybe a bit more stringent with the dust cover as we've got to keep Carl in CT from having an aneurism! chuckles1

We're just a bunch of the miscreants from sksboards that needed a new home where what we think we know is laid out succinctly and is free of the I-know-it-all ego trips, administrator power struggles, and general nastiness found on other boards.  We're still small but I think we will continue growing.

Welcome aboard!  thumb1

Hey FC, 'Welcome to the dark side' at least as far as the background goes, lol.

My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Thanks, gentlemen, for all the kind welcomes! Much appreciated!
