I currently have two Yugoslavian SKS rifles, an Albanian will be here Tuesday, and I'm also mostly done building an Albanian from parts as I find them. I also have a ton of other milsurp guns. I'm hoping to find a lot of useful information on here and meet new people who share this interest in SKSs.

Yes it was, I was beyond ecstatic when given the price. The Carcano 91/30 long rifle and a T99 got my initial fundage back. The little Savage 325 in .30-30 had a jammed bolt and minor mechanical mess ups and the stock was toast. I did the best I could with the wood, added a recoil pad and decent sling then let be. With pointy boolits it's very accurate. PAX

Interested to see it.  Could be a transitional '50, those are always fun to find to see where they lie in the progression of features.

It could be in as-issued condition as well.  Those are exceedingly rare.  thumb1

Quote from: echo1 on February 16, 2026, 12:50:50 PMI have one too in original 8X50R chambering I picked up in an estate package, $450 for the lot. It was the last of the dead guys stash that his family raped him over for and the last Kali Cash & Carry buy before they did away with it in 2014. I scored pretty hard by my meager standards. One of the sweet deals was some complete furniture for a 1917. Took me 3 or 4 years to find the right Eddystone sport job donor. PAX

Indeed, a great story! It looks like you picked up a real winner  8)

My one and only M1911A1 is also a Remington Rand in excellent condition. I'm very happy to have any example of and M1911A1, even if it's not one of the rare manufacturers. It sure beats the heck out of the CMP guns that saw another 40+ years of use and mixing of components to keep them operational.

General SKS Discussion / Re: ALBANIAN SKS

Pictures would be very helpful, as a couple of characteristics you stated make it a bit puzzling. You mentioned you acquired them 18 years ago, so around 2006. Certainly the Albanian-manufactured version with a spike bayonet would have been in the US then. However, that was before any of the Chinese Type 56s from Albania were imported. The first batch of those were the early Chinese Type 56 SKSs equipped with blade bayonets, ca. 2012-2015. The predominantly spike bayonet equipped Type 56s from Albania came later.
