Title: 7mm Mauser & 7.65 Argentine- Where is it?
Post by: Blicero on February 09, 2015, 06:13:57 PM
I'm on the hunt for El Cheapo surplus 7 Mauser or 7.65 Argentine ammo. Does it still exist?

I see Liberty Tree has both for $.50+/round. Can that be beat?

Samco has FN surplus 7.65x54 for $0.50, which is a no to cheaper but a yes to another option.

https://samcoglobal.com/Ammo-Argentine.html  .49.9 per  The brown tip Argentine, real good stuff, I set some back, just for collection purposes.

I bought 2 cases of 7mm from them back in the day, it's now gone cry1.

Surplus 7x57 is hard to find in bulk now, PPU and S&B makes a 173gr round that emulates the military round.  The 139grain stuff is not very accurate in the worn military bores with the military twist.

Funny you mention that. I was just shooting a Chilean carbine with 139 gr and it was keyholing big time. My bud was convinced that it's not a 7mm anymore but I think it has to be- there are no .30 or 7.62 markings anywhere and a 308 projectile doesn't come close to fitting the muzzle. The load was just wrong for the gun.

I'm ordering some of that Samco stuff. I'm curious to see how it shoots. Thanks for the tip.
