Several years ago I posted 1950 transitions and now I feel that I have enough info to do the same with 1949 SKS. but I also feel that there could be more info out there to add. A lot of people only recognize a 49 due to a spike bayonet, tapered stock, bottom pinned stock ferrule, 90 degree gas port and spring loaded firing pin. But there is more to see.
1. On this SKS, it has special features on the front and rear sling mount, stock and
trap door, and the magazine release and safety lever.
