Title: Well I finally did it...
Post by: Greatguns on October 19, 2025, 10:57:38 PM
I took one of my HiPoint 995 carbines and bought a Hightower bullpup stock for it. They had, may still have, the stocks on sale at $224.95 w/ free shipping and no tax. I've got to say I am very impressed on the quality of the stock kit. Well thought out and durable materials. Basically a drop in setup.
It's a little heavier due to the beefiness of the stock, but well balanced. Fully ambidextrous capable and overall better operation than the original setup. There has been mention of the Promag 15rnd mags not working with this setup, but all you have to do is remove the sleeve from the mag and it works fine. Haven't shot it yet, but wanted to post up about it.

Looks pretty boss. I'm still trying to warm up to my Shernic build. I've got a Muzzlelite 10/22 that my son wanted. He could shoot it one handed quite well. PAX

I visited Nick and Sherri down in La Habra where they had their shop when they first started building those Shernic stocks. (had thoughts of investing with them on it, but never did)
They are a bit more complicated than the HTA bullpup stocks. I'm trying to get used to using this right handed, but being a southpaw, I keep wanting to shoulder it on my left side. My right eye is better than my left these days though so I practice firing my firearms off both shoulders. Also gotta get me a muzzle device for it since it's threaded.
