I’m not sure if a bullet was ever put through this Rifle. And the wood is in immaculate condition as well as as the bore. I think it might be a commercial variant because I do not see any military markings on it. I find the little knob on the buttock interesting as I’ve not seen it on any of the other Ones that I saw online.

This is just 13 out of an initial batch of 103. Supposedly there’s another two or 300 rifles to look at. I’m waiting for the woman to get her act together. Her husband passed away and she is selling office collection. There are a number of other military rifles, but these were the ones that I chose first. I’m also waiting to see what’s in the other part of the collection before I spend any more money on this first part I wish I could share all the photographs, but that would just be way too many to list.

The Remington-Lees are definitely outside of my area of expertise, but they are very interesting historical guns with their Lee-invented box magazines etc. I’m guessing this is a commercial Model 1885 (or scrubbed receiver ring) with added finger grip, and modified rear sight. Beautiful condition thumb1
