Only a serial on the receiver. Haven’t come across this before. No factory code or type 56 stamp.

I thought ghost as well, but it has the layout of an early 1970s with the spike bayonet.  It’s throwing me off.

Possibly a 2001 (01) serial prefix on a commercially repurrposed Canadian import?

Can you tell me more about those? I’m unfamiliar. This rifle is in Canada.

0riginal matching rifles and complete rifles assembled from a stockpile of early, middle and late production components.

The two digit year dating system is one variation seen on Chinese sks imports to the US market. Scroll to the bottom of this page link to see some examples of this alternate dating method: https://chinesesks.weebly.com/dating-the-chinese-sks.html

Imports to the US ended in 1993 or 1994. But I've seen Canadian imports with dates as late as 2003.

Question: does the barrel have a long lug or short lug collar?

All I have is the photos you see above I’m doing a trade for this one potentially.

As per the photos I believe it’s a short lug.
