Title: SKS Sling From Ukraine
Post by: RoscoeTurner on June 30, 2025, 06:59:21 PM
This Russian sling was recently sent to me along with some other accessories by a friend in Ukraine.  May not be anything special about it but I thought I would share it here in case someone spots something I did not.

It's 1950 stamped and an early SKS sling as evidenced by the stitched leather tab for the D ring instead of the later metal riveted tab. They are worth more and quite a bit harder to find.

Thank you, I thought it might be early based on the leather tab but thought it best to ask here.  Currently have it on my 1955 Russian SKS.

He also included two manuals and a black SKS pouch, I will post photos of those later today.

Hard to read, but the number on the stamp farthest from the buckle looks to be a 50 which should make it a 1950 year production. IIRC they switched to the metal in '52-'53 around the same time they started with the chrome-lined barrels.
