Has anyone held one of these in their hands yet? First lever action I've seen in .223 or 300 BLK from Henry (or anyone else?). Looks like the box mag will alleviate the spritzer point on primer safety issue inherent with tube mags. MSRP is pricey as all hell, but it looks like a fun one. I'm dubious of "sub-MOA" right out of the box, but anything's possible I guess.

I do love the commercial subtext of this trend, where the market responds to the semiautomatic rifle bans in various states with alternative rifles in popular cartridges.
Having 2, a Golden Boy in 44mag and the steel 45-70.. plus others from Marlin, a .357, .30-30 and a pair of 30carbine levers... the sub-MOA to me is a bit of a stretch. Don't get me wrong.. Henry makes some good stuff, and it's pricey.. and oh so smooth.... That accuracy might be obtainable with perfect handloads in perfect conditions with a hand selected accurized rifle.. a lever action isn't a sniper, nor is it built for that kinda task.. 2 inches at a 100yards... or minute of white tail I'd deem sufficient for them, which either of these can do, just ask the 3 deer. One ding on Henrys... the tube fed design... the side loading gate is so much easier.
Actually... I've been considering another Henry... in 327 Federal Magnum, and I discovered there is a 454 Casull lever action. :)

I was thinking of getting their little 9mm carbine but was going to wait and see how other's had held up in the year or so since they've been available. Neat to see they are moving forward with new designs. The six lug rotating bolt on these looks stout as hell. If the aluminum receiver will hold up, there is no reason they couldn't offer a more powerful cartridge with it.
I have not but last year I bought a stainless steel adult sized 22lr Henry "Evil Roy" and I love it. The octogonal barrel is a nice touch. I believe this version was designed by some popular cowboy action shooter. I cleaned it a few months ago and the screw driver slipped and buggered the side screws. They sent me screws for free even though I had asked to buy them. Its a great plinker. I am wanting their 357 mag carbine with the saddle ring. All the Henry rifles were out of stock during the scamdemic, locally and it was frustrating, I looked everywhere but glad they are back now. I will get one soon. They are the best modern company as far as rifles are concerned IMHO and they are made here.
It would be neat to see them in 5.56 and 7.62x39, they would be a hit in any of the ban states including WA recently as a semi-sporting rifle substitute. (Thank goodness I already had everything I really wanted before this unlawful law)I shot my first 2 deer with both a 1920's era Winchester model 94 in 30-30 that was my uncles gun when he was a child and my 2nd was taken with a Win model 94 16" carbine in 357 mag. I have loved levers ever since!

Very nice! I had a Marlin 336C in 30-30 that I bought for $200 at a gun show when I was 20. It was pre cross bolt safety (half cock safety on the hammer that worked flawlessly) but also a microgroove barrel instead of the older style Ballard rifling. Probably built in the sweet spot in the late 50's / early 60's long before Marlin quality started to deteriorate. I loved that carbine. Wound up giving it to a good friend of mine who did a ton of work helping me clear about 20 yards of old concrete from my backyard back in the day.
I've been thinking of a Big Boy for some time. Can't bring myself to shell out the $1+k they MSRP for now-a-days. I should have gotten one 8 years ago when they were $699. Oh well.
I've seen Turkish G-Force carbines (https://palmettostatearmory.com/g-force-saddlehorn-lever-357-magnum-20-10rd-rifle-walnut-gflvr357.html) that run $469.99 that might be worth a second look, but honestly I've been stockpiling ammo the past few years with very few new gun purchases...
Nice.. thumb1 I have a Marlin 357, and a Marlin made 30-30.. but aside from the side loading gates on them, the two Henry's in 44mag Big Boy and 45-70 I have are more desirable. I'm not a fan of the loading on the Henry's, but the quality IMO is much better. I'll deal with the loading for the quality.
Especially after the fit the Marlin 357 gave me, it made two trips back before they got it right. The 2 Marlin lever actions I have in 30 carbine, those feed from a box magazine, I don't mind them.
I've been mulling over a Henry in 327 Fed Mag.. I kind of inherited about 600ish rounds in that caliber, but nothing to shoot it
I've got a Henry rifle in .41 mag that's boss. With my Blackhawk they go in the flying machine when over Grizz country. I picked it up from Sportsmans Warehouse for a great price. Including the knock-offs it was a little under $500 bucks 6 or 7 years ago. I would have preferred a Marlin but you couldn't beat the price. My Savage 99F in .308 with 2X7X32 glass is quite accurate and my favorite hunter. I have an older Marlin 30AS that's a very smooth .30-30. When the spousal unit and I are traversing through hostile territories, it's a Rossi carbine, rifle, 6" Astra and 4" Rossi .357s. A Cossack 1895 X54 and .30-06 carbine Winchester is on my wish list. That Henry's profile kinda looks like a BLR. PAX
