Title: Enfield No. 4 MkI commercialized in 7.62x39

Anybody ever seen on like this before? It takes single stack Romanian AK mags. It's up for sale and caught my eye.

That’s an oddity. Likely a well done one-off. The receiver appears to be a Fazakerley No4 Mk1 (leading 2). I suspect the .303/.311 (nominal bore/grooves) barrel is original and merely cut down. If the original barrel was like new then the nominally .310 diameter 7.62x39 bullets should spin well, but it’s like getting a barrel with 50% of its life gone already.

When I first looked at it, the bid was at $400 so I thought it might be kind of neat to pick up. With just over 2 hours left it has now jumped up to $900 on a 2 man bidding war. I was out at $450, LOL.

Yeah, it’s a curiosity. Not my cup of tea old chap, but if it were I think your tap out price was reasonable. $900 final price was just silly.

Does look like a fun one to shoot though.  The days of cheap bolt action rifles in popular calibers is nearing its end I fear.

RTI has several Carcano flavors (grade B) on a fire sale at $149, but that round is so hard to find (cheaply) anymore that it would just be a wall hanger.

Yep, I'll just stick with my Ruger American Ranch at this point. Cheapest bolt action I see around are the Savage AXIS II, but I don't believe they make one in 7.62x39. The new Gen 2 Rugers are running about $600 OTD if not more so, in my book anyway, they are no longer cheap.
