HI, Guys hope everyone is doing well. I bought this all numbers matching Chinese SKS from Robertson trading post around 2014, it came already cleaned but had a cracked stock they sent me a Tapco tactical stock for free. I sold it and replaced it with a AKA jungle stock, it came with this sling which I can not find any information about it. Can any of you SKS experts please give me any information on the history of this sling where it came from and the year it was made. thank you.

The characters are largely worn out but I can make out some of them:
五六式7.62半？？？？
？？五九年度？
Translation:
Type 56 7.62 Semi ？？？
？？？ 59 year ?
And as we all know, Type 56 7.62mm Semiautomatic Rifle is the official designation of the Chinese SKS.
So yeah, this is a genuine Chinese SKS sling made for the SKS. An AK sling would say something like 五六式7.62冲锋枪 instead.

Yes. Type56 AK sling. In 1959 the Chinese were using Russian SKS slings or copies of Russian slings for the Type56 sks -- as documented in propaganda posters in the 1960's. Note the early blade bayo rifles with soviet style sling clips with 3-rivet metal tabs:

One fella is saying Type 56, dated 59 and semi.... I assume reading this, it means semiauto, which points to an SKS

Then others say it's an AK model 56.. which no one has broached the date of year... '59. The facts are there... '59, I don't speak or read Chinese so.... as an outsider I take the fella on his word it says '59.. which in my mind is 1959, and says semi... which I take as semiauto...
The confusing part is was China making semiauto AK's in 1959, probably not..... Or do these slings just have random printing as a fit all. Seems there have been a metric crap ton of these slings sold everywhere for the last 40 to 50 years. There's probably 100 times more slings made than weapons to fit them.... all claiming to fit a multitude of weapons, all stamped in some weird fashion...
I'm no Chinese guru, but it seems the sling markings don't jive with the dates, the models, the info provided, or the posters shown. And having gone thru the past dating wars elsewhere.. this is how bad info and data gets perpetrated and spread.
Flame me if you feel the need.. but if you re-read this post... it is over looking certain pieces of info for knee jerk reactions.

It's a SKS.
I am a native Chinese speaker and 半 can only mean one thing, 半自动步枪, and the only firearm to ever receive that designation in 1956 was the SKS.
If it's a Type 56 AK sling it will say 五六式7.62冲锋枪, if it's a Type 56 RPD it will say 五六式7.62机枪 (or 五六式7.62轻机枪, I forgot the details), if it's a Type 63 sling it will say 六三式7.62自动步枪, if it's Type 81 it will say 八一式7.62自动步枪.
