Ive posted this one on another site waaaay back in the day. Time to show it here on the official SkS site. All matching 1953 Izhevsk from the mother country of the most sought after surplus firearms in the world :). Lucked out one day and was lurking on the snipers hide website and a guy had posted up a package deal of 3 Russian SkS's. Bought all 3 and this was one of them. Solid gun with very little referb indications other then a lightly refinished original stock. Maybe just me but if you notice the penmanship on the gas tube and gas piston this is the penmenship of Svetlana and not Sergey :-* Older picture package but with many to show. Enjoy and Thanks for looking.

Very nice 53. Wish I had one like that in my stable. Thank you for posting.
Very nice 1953 Izhevsk! It's very interesting to see bolt body stamped with two numbers.
beauty, so jealous.
Wow DC! I don't know how I missed this post originally. That is an absolute beauty! :o Definitely the best 1953 Izhevsk I've seen! thumb1
DC, great looking rifle. Love the Izhevsks.
pcke2000, I'm missing it. Where is the bolt stamped 2x?
Thank You gentlemen. I was very fortunate to find these when I did.
I believe pcke2000 was talking about the bolt and extractor both having the numbers stamped in the assembly. Its really not a rarity to see this on the Russians but more matching numbers on parts the better. I guess :))

The 2nd number I was talking about is highlighted in the attached pic. I don't think it's common on Russian SKS:

Not common but not necessarily uncommon either. I found 4 in a quick 5 min search:

Not the S/N, must be some type of tracking, lot, heat treat, or refurbishment number.
SOB, good eye! I didn't see that. I thought what DC said perhaps you were referring to the extractor but figured you had to see EP'd extractors.
Nice '53, DC!
The bayonet serial is a cool little detail that you just don't see very often.
The '2' on the comb, as well.
