Howdy all.
Here's an animated presentation that shows how to disassemble and operate the SKS. It was put together by the Vietnamese military reserves (DQTV) to help train their personnel. Looks like a great training aid for those new to the rifle.
No idea they were still using the SKS over there.

Interesting, thanks for sharing! Since the Dân quân Tự vệ Việt Nam are the militia, it makes sense that they'd use at least some second tier equipment.
I did some searching for SKS in present day Vietnam, and came up with these videos and pictures. Looks like the weapon type is still very much in use over in their part of the world.
Looks like some younger folks in that first video. I expect the militia teaches them how to disassemble, clean, and operate the SKS in school.

I think the man should have been calling the shots. The girl was fumbling most of the time. She'd get herself killed on the battlefield going that slow. Should be able to do it blindfolded imho. Fun to watch anyway.

Imagine that happening in the US... There would be chaos - lol. People would run over and record it with their phones, call the cops and go nuts in general. How dare you!

Well, what you say is probably true about the US, but this wasn't on a street, it was on a training school grounds and the people walking by were all in green. But of course this is Vietnam, if the depicted training did take place on a busy street corner in Ho Chi Minh City (nee Saigon) you wouldn't be allowed to run over and record it with your phone, or call the cops, or protest in any way, let alone
go nuts ;)

I noticed that, too. They are wearing the proper chest rigs for the Type 63 as well.

You're right, it would be a normal occurrence at a training facility.
That girl with the T63 is beyond a hottie...so much so it's hard to notice the gun.

The fact that this kind of thing goes on in Vietnam is interesting to me. A country where most people can't own their own guns, but everybody knows how to shoot by the time they're grown.
Meanwhile, over here you can own as many guns as you want, but fewer and fewer people know anything about firearms.
I help run a wilderness program for young adults in my state. We teach them a little about doing outdoorsy work and how to get by in the woods. No weapons are allowed, but off the clock I always make the offer...if y'all haven't handled guns before, I'm more than happy to go over some of the basics. I show them a little about firearms safety, cleaning, etc and take them to the range.
Boggles my mind how many people aged 18-20 have never even seen a gun before, unless it's on TV. Taking them into the woods and handing them a rifle is like taking a fish out of water.

Another thing to notice...not one of those guns has a cleaning rod. Bottom most pic also has it's bayonet removed.
