Hi Cosmoline Junkies,
My buddy, who's a general contractor, found this under the floor of a Victorian he was remodeling. There was corrosion, and it was froze up, but seems to function OK now, after soaking in some Kroil for a week. Iver Johnson 5 shot top break .38 in nickel (?). It's a pretty cool find even if it isn't worth much. PAX

Wow, very cool. Send updated pics when he cleans it up.
It is cleaned up, was almost black. My friend who found it, didn't care for firearms and gave it to me about 15 years ago. I have another IJ Hammerless .32 that's a total wreck. I turned it into a "Pistol whipping training pistol" display. I put it in a shadow bow labeled "Detroit Metro Circa 1893" PAX
neat find on his part and cool he gave it to you. nice to have friends like him.
Is that a shoulder holster?

Is that a shoulder holster?
Yes it is. Got it from a cobbler 40 years ago. My Jaguar used to live in it. PAX
Great find!
I found a Colt .38 New Police Special - under the floorboards of a house I was helping to demo several years ago!
thats awsome , all the scummy floors ive ripped up in my days and no treasure joy for me,lol
Pretty cool find! I had a top break like that in .38 Short Colt. It always made me nervous to fire that pistol. Never got used to the top break action.

Nice gun - wonder what the story was? Who put it there and when? Wish she could tell the history....
