Title: Probable 1973 /106\ Short collar all matching
Post by: Greatguns on November 02, 2020, 08:12:35 PM
Just did an impulse local FTF purchase on an all matching /106\ factory 1.8M(data shows 1973). Complete, a little dirty, but pretty decent. Only thing, and I missed this at first, is it has 4 holes D&T'd around the receiver cover for a scope mount. Trying to remember which mount would have had holes in these locations. Posting a few pics now, will put up more when I get her cleaned up.

If anybody has input on the hole configuration let me know.

That is for an ATI mount.  I put one in the box. I cannot remember what it's actually called, but it's old school ATI.  You might check with Larry to see if it stayed in there...the screws were included too.
In fact, it's that same mount you noticed on somebody's SKS over at the other boards....I saw that earlier today, but I think the thread was from a month or so ago...

GG, you bought the rifle but never saw the holes in the receiver? Am I reading that correctly? If so, I'd say you're still foggy and should refrain from any further purchases for the time being.  chuckles1

I know you want to secretly put a Cupid setup on your rifle so these holes are in the wrong place.  rofl

You are a FUNNY guy chuckles1

But no, I didn't notice them when I first picked up the rifle, but when I was checking all the numbers and such I noticed them. I bought it anyway

There may, or may not, have been one in the box.

A couple hundred bucks should take care of it......... :) :P

So, I got the mount from Larry yesterday(Thanks Larry) that was put in the Pay it forward box by Justin(those enablers). I had to re-drill holes in the mount as 3 of the 4 were 1/8" off from the holes in the receiver, but had it on in about 1/2 hour. Now I'm perplexed though as it's all matching, but yet it's bubba'd. I guess I could make it a Cowboy's Friend or a Farmer's Companion. rofl2 rofl2
