Title: Large variety of M39s at Classic
Post by: Justin Hell on October 30, 2020, 02:23:44 PM
There is an insane listing of M39s with just about any variation under the sun available...kinda neat.

says only 2 left  always was under the impression that Finnish ones were the best. but, pics and description don't show me this $700 seems high for shape they are in. have to learn more about them for sure.

My BIL has a Finnish M91 w/ 32.5" bbl and octagon receiver and it is a real tack driver with the issued iron sights the last time I shot with it.With a bayonet deployed it seems 7ft tall.

I love the M39 but it's amazing how much these have gone up. Well, I mean these were from Classic Markup Firearms, but they've gone up on the secondary market too.

I'd sort of like a 1948 date but $900, sight unseen  :o  bat1 Nope, $300 more than I'm willing to pony up even in the current market.

Honestly, even the lowliest of these was beyond my interest...I just finished a project, well the assembly anyway. I have zero parts to start with...so nope.
Rabbit holes get expensive. The aforementioned project took off like a nuclear powered hot air ballon.  I imagine Finn parts would be scarce.
I have fought off the Mosin well, with just a 91/30 boring one, and a nice ratty T53...but these I find neat enough to be a different breed altogether, at least since watching the video.

I do have to give Classic a thumbs up on breaking these down into the multifaceted way they are listing them...despite the prices. I haven't seen them do that before, and it's a heck of a lot more 'honest' than dividing the total value over the lot and sending folks who DIDN'T know the differences a diamond whilst a collector gets the rust, and charging too much or too little during a semi panic buy situation when folks are buying anything they can.

I do imagine that at this price point getting the better of TWO for an extra thirty bucks doesn't hurt as much.

Dangit...now I have to listen to Judas Priest cover Joan Baez.

with only one left, i wonder if you just add it to your cart without checking any boxes you could save big bucks for the extras.

It says only one left but there are two listed. $700 plus tax plus shipping etc. no thanks, I have one. I used to have two and I regret selling the other but… I still have 26 Finns and captures of varying collectibility
