It looks like a very nice carbine, for sure, auskip07! Congrats!
Why do you consider this to be a Commercial SKS? It's late and I'm tired, so I could be missing something obvious. I'd consider these to be a Chinese SKS (Military) qualified carbine. Heck, I'm happy to see it regardless. The summer and Covid has slowed things way too much on the board. I may get desperate and take pics of a few of mine just to get to see more SKS porn. chuckles1
Thanks for posting your acquisitions up for us to goggle-eye!

Thankyou Sir!
after taking lunch and fixing a Riding lawn mower that was given to me, i decided to dedicate a whole 3 hours to this and i was shocked at how fast it went. Guess im getting better at cleaning these or the ones in better shape are just faster cleanups.

Wow, that prolly the best looking out of the recent imports that I’ve seen! Those recent nicks with care could be blended to match the rest of the stock. Good job!

got any tips or tricks to get it blended? Assuming sand smooth and apply some tung to the area?
No, no sanding! Please no sanding.
Buy a 1/2 pint of Minwax “Gunstock” colored stain. With a QTip dab it in the recent import dings so the colors blend, the original and the new. Then perhaps dab a sealer with a QTip over the newly applied stain.
Edit: Don’t try and remove the import dings just blend the finish so they look like they have been there as long as other dings.
Good luck.
Nice one!
I agree with the suggestions about blending the dings.

Alright, i ran to the store and got some gun stock varnish. applied it a few times. waiting for it to absorb
near the lug will be tricky because the damage appears fiberous.
Before pics and ill post after pics tonight

Auskip, that thing is a mess with all those dings. I'll give you $300 and you won't have to worry about those pesky dings. wink1
I'm joking of course!
Sweet, rifle! Just let it be and enjoy. thumb1
Its an improvement.

Thanks Bob! She won't be tinkered with much. Maybe change out the front sight post for shooting.

Seriously, if those 2 dings are the worst of it you came out pretty good.
