Very nice.Did you add that 20 rnd mag later on?
A very desirable 1978 Jianshe Type 56, especially if you have the matching original 10 round mag.
She sure is purdy!
Excellent looking rifle there Bmont. Please tell me you have original mag so that beauty is 100% intact.
Well guys... you see her as she came to me. The original rifles mag is missing in some one's junk parts bin... I know whom ever has this original mag is probably thinking to themselves... I wonder what I could get for this ... I think it went to that cool sks I used to have that I gave to my brother who sold it to buy beer for the weekend.
Anyway... no I dont have the original. I do have an unissued unnumbered replacement sks china mag but thought... why? It is what it is... but she is a sweet shooter and the 20 rounder performs flawlessly.
Amazing what the 20 rounders are selling for now days.
thanks for sharing.
Nice carbinen thumb1
Very nice! I had to rescue my 78. I traded a guitar for her at a pawn shop, sporting an ATI Monte Carlo and a metal duckbill mag. Eventually I hunted down everything I needed to get her back to normal, which isn't all that easy to find unserialed. I would say it's my nicest Chinese, these are very well built.
I don't recall whether I ever tried the 20 rounder I have in it. I must say I like yours without the star better, it looks less, odd. :)
In fact, it actually looks far more appropriate on yours, I may give it another try on that, although I keep getting tempted to sell it due to the insane prices they get....which only seems to keep going up. It's like a big heavy savings bond! chuckles1
Thanks for sharing, BMont. That's the first 20 rounder I've seen in cursive!! Neat!!
