Been meaning to get around to sharing this one, and now HR has burst the bubble cry1
Jokes aside, saw this at a LGS near my grandparents in Oklahoma recently.
I was hesitent to go check any of the pawn shops in the area because a week prior i found a steal of a deal mosin still in the cosmoline, negotiated it to 200$ OTD and was pulling out my money and ID to pay when the lady working that day said she wouldn't sell to me since my ID and LTC are from Texas... despite explaining it was a pretty normal thing, that im in town visiting family and showing her the exact reference stating that it was all completely legal she then changed her wording stating it was that specific pawn shops policy.... ??? ??? ???
Was a bit peeved, but there was nothing to do except text PAX up and vent my frustrations, and he was able to remind me that it could be worse, i could have to conform to the laws of Kalifornistan, and you know what i felt better. chuckles1 chuckles1 chuckles1
Anyways, The next week I found this shop a few miles further out and glad i decided to stop in.
The guy was asking 350$ but I ended up taking her home at 300$ OTD

Yup, Not going to lie, i'm not seeing the panic happen in oklahoma much at all, even in texas its barely noticeable, or atleast in the areas i frequent.
AR's and AK's are certainly on the rise when sold in completed configuration, thats where the only real areas im seeing panic pricing. I would reckon it has to do with noone wanting to come to or leave the state of Oklahoma ( :) :) :)) and as such it was one of the least affected states by the corona virus, and everything's just kind of been more steady than the rest of the US. The protests in the city are pretty tame, especially compared to places like seattle.
Other than those specific guns increasing, the prices of C&R guns haven't budged here. Something i'm thankful for for sure.

I'll also try to get a range report in as soon as i can, i don't think i've shot the last 3 guns i've picked up recently just been busy but i need to stop making excuses and pay some attention to the new ladies in my life. :-*

Only issues i had when taking her apart was the stock had become one with the receiver. upon further inspection the tale tell signs of being fired while still having cosomoline/grease in the stock was very evident, and lots of the hardened and tar like substance on the wood around the metal to let me know. in the not so high heat areas there was still the clearish goop in some harder to reach spots.
I stopped after the first couple pics to put the gloves on. No, i didn't put them on because its a collectors wet dream or because of the 'rona, but rather it became evident very clearly that she was a dirty girl and when CLP soaks in my hands from a good cleaning sesh, (which is whats about to happen) they dry out and hurt the next day.

Took forever to see the 4 digit number on the gas tube matches, its only barely there.
I did find a easter egg on this one while taking these photos. 'KP' carved into the receiver by hand, assuming someone somewhere who owned this rifle's initials. Super neat IMO and the little things that gives it it's own charm.

Plus you can't get the damn smell out of your hands.
Another one that's got that "been there, done that" look to it.
I actually prefer these over safe queen/mint firearms.
