This must be the day for the LGS. Stopped by one of mine and spotted this. A CJA import, 7M 1962. Like the other one I have (a JPE), it is all matching except for the BC and Bolt, with an un-numbered replacement stock. I don't know if this was common with CJA or JPE 7M rifles. No numbers on the piston or gas tube, which seems correct for the period. Sticker was 399.97. They said make an offer. I said hows about 350.00. They said ok. Checking out they asked cash or card. Replied cash. 350.00 OTD. And I wasn't going to stop by there today wink1.
P.S. Yes, I know the bayonet is on upside down :).

nice buy, looking good. thumb1 to bad, no cosmopolitan either. :o
Nice score! thumb1 Is it a later bolt carrier with no lightening cuts?
Very nice.Looks practically unissued or arsenal refinished condition.
Jon, oddly enough, the BC has the lightening cut. Earlier, I meant to say the gas tube itself is period correct (one piece) not to imply the lack of numbers was period correct.
BZ, it looks arsenal refinished. The other one that I mentioned had a lot of pitting under the stock line but must have been blasted and re-blued since the finish was consistent.
Thanks Carl. The only Cosmo I've found is on the piston and the bolt.

Yeah, it has that late matte gray phosphate look to it and the appearance of the top being ground, which is why I asked. It appears they refurbished a bolt carrier for this rifle that happened to be period correct.
Nice deal! Nice looking rifle... I'm all jelly..

I've always liked that look.
Jon, they also force matched the trigger group. The original number was ground off and 4694 was stamped. Also, the magazine uses the same font as the TG and the cover, hence my belief of Arsenal replacement since the original font on the receiver is seriffed.
Cleanest 7m I've seen in a while. Good catch!!
clap1 clap1... real nice shape.
Wow - super nice rifle!

Certainly looks like all the numbers minus the receiver were ground and restamped. CJA guns were often like this. Oddly enough, Navy Arms guns were often like this as well. Looks like a keeper, nice get Bruce! thumb1
