I found this on my daily browsing, I didn't know a 1956 dated gun existed what's your thoughts?

Letter suffix? Just asking because I saw a 1955 letter the other day...

I don't know it's just the stock, but I know what you mean 1955 dated letter guns do exist. I have been looking in the archives of forums for proof but have come up empty..

Canadians claim to have these.  I remember seeing about 5 of them in a shipment a few years ago.  They all looked 'off' though, and I remember thinking that if they were legit, they were done with totally different stamps than was normally used at Tula.  I wish I had saved those photos. :(

I think you could argue that this one is a '55 pretty easily, esp with all the sanding and the refurb XX's.

Heck...  that "6" could easily be a 5.   Show me a 56 cover.   thumb1
