My AR15 it's a 2016 Bushmaster XM15-E2S (AR15A2). I wanted something representative of what I carried while in the Air Force, I'm going to get another one with the triangular handguards to represent what we used with I first came in.
Nothing special, has the fixed site-rail aka handguard, a surplus military sling that was in my mobility bag, and a bayonet I picked up sometime during my career.

I would have to get an m14, which i couldn't afford (so got an ar15 also for similar reason). :o
I like the look of the M16/AR15, 20" barrel lineage with the carry handle rear sight etc. I need one.
My only currently built AR is a DDM4V4 with a 16" barrel, but I love it, it's a tack driver.

We started getting M4s in before I retired, but I never carried/shot it. Other than the triangular handguard AR, I'm looking for a M9 Beretta and S&W M15 or M10 whatever it was that our aircrew carried, as we carried what they did.
Plus there is all the other weapons on the wishlist........
I like the "classic" look.
I'm thinking about building a 20" pencil barrel with a non-removable carry handle.

I agree, I like the Classic look. It's what I qualified on and carried. I personally don't like the Swiss Army Knife set-up I see a lot of people bring to the range.
But who am I to judge, to each their own.
