Ruger Mini 14 Ranch rifle series 187 and according to the Ruger website was manufactured in 1984. Bought it about a year or so ago and have not fired it yet. Has been a closet queen since it arrived. Probably will be putting it up for sell soon.

I tried picking one of these up a few times at an auction unsuccessfully. I wonder how many of these would be out there if Ruger didn't cave to pressure (If I have my facts correct from memory).
Looks like it's in real good shape. I never shot one of those.
I have one..from 1993.. after i got it..it quickly found it's way to the back of the safe.. Never had any problems, other than it never was really all that accurate.. I just found, I prefer the .30 Carbines or my real M-14, to the knock off. I have considered dumping it many times... but, it keeps hanging in there like an old rusty fish hook

I hear you greasemonkey. I didnt need it but bought it on a whim since I had no rifle in that caliber and I did not want an ar platform rifle. Not saying that .223/5.56 is bad or undesirable but, I prefer my 7.62x39 rifles more.
A buddy just bought a second one recently.
He seems to hit what he aims at.
I've shot them a few times, I even owned a Mini 30 at one point, just not my thing.
They are well made, and a lot on fun to play with though.
Big fan of the 580 series
