An interesting site for export/import numbers. It has major limitations since it's based on voluntary self reporting and some countries provide more information, along with the raw numbers, than others. Of course the US is a (the) major exporter of arms and does not participate, so we can't find the corresponding import numbers. That would be nice corroborating data to have.
In any case, Albania was fairly good with the reporting in that they even show models. They have apparently not filed a report for 2013 yet (if ever), or the website administrator is out sight-seeing in NYC instead of updating links.
Below is a table for Albanian Type 53 Mosin-Nagant carbines and Type 56 SKS's derived from the data. It would be really nice to have the 2013 data and the 2014 after year end, but I'm not holding my breath.

Neat Jon! I remember looking through that website when I was researching for my "Q: Whay aren't Russian SKSs allowed to be imported?" thread. They didn't have anything after 2011 when I looked and I simply moved on thinking there was nothing to be gained by digging deeper into the data. I'm glad you did though! thumb1
2012 T56s (and 53's) would be all the CAI imports: six digit, 2 mil, and 3 mil /26\s. Interesting that there's a number for the total import now. We should be able to correlate that to the known examples of each and extrapolate how many of each came in. Good stuff! clap1
Yeah, the data was variable by country but tiny, formerly insular Albania was quite forthcoming (through '12). Hopefully, they'll get out the 2013 data eventually and we can get a handle on the IO numbers.
