This woodsmith/gunsmith offers stocks for several European-manufacture military rifles from the 1800s and 1900s.  I've emailed them to ask if they would consider reproducing SKS stocks.  They do have a beautiful Birchwood Mosin stock among many others!  I'm ordering a Walnut Fusil-Gras stock from them.  The prices are expensive.  My stock will cost $374 for a Walnut stock, finished with oil and wax.  This includes shipping/handling to the U.S.  They are located in Poland.

I'm not advertising for them, but I figure there might be others who frequent these forums who'd like to have a nice stock replacement.

As long as he's stamping the stock with his company logo - AND, not taking requests for 'custom' arsenal and serial number strikes, I'd opt for one of them over a synthetic.
