I've always been reluctant to buy or use remanufactured ammo, which is strange when you consider I'll load up & blast away with century-old surplus ammo from backwoods Fourth World pits of despair like Pakistan, Egypt, Romania, Yugoslavia, South Africa, and Turkey without hesitation.
Anyway, at the last gun show I picked up 250 rounds each of 9 & 45 from a local ammo manufacturer called Defender Ammunition Company for a price comparable to the typical steel cased junk you can find in those calibers. Thanks to some nifty scheduling this year, I have a 2.5 hour lunch break, so I just used the time to test this ammo out. First I lined up some rounds to check for consistent seating & brass health:

Looks good.
I loaded up the Luger & 1911 and fired away at some fallen branches about 25 yards down the hill. After 48 rounds through the Luger and 35 rounds through the 1911 without any failures or blowing up the gun or my face, I'm convinced this is good quality, safe, reliable ammo. So I'm giving my nod to the local business, Defender Ammuniton Co., and you should check them out too. The guys running the booth at the show were polite & helpful too, so I'm confident in their customer service abilities too.

That's just too cool Blicero, thanks for the review. I usually avoid any except what I load but I'll check them out.
Bah, that Luger is horsetrash. I'll take it off your hands, here you need a Jimenez. thumb1
Do they use once fired brass in the mfg, or is this totally new manufacture?
Does your recently fired brass look like it's at the end of their life, or are they still reusable?
I use Wolf, Golden Tiger and other Russian brands that you have now way of knowing wtf they actually put inside or what kind of QC they have. Probably not a huge difference to look to one of the smaller American reloaders as an alternative. Unfortunately, all my calibers are not necessarily high demand (what, you mean they don't sell American reloaded 7.5 Swiss?!)
Freedom Munitions is another one that's really top notch.

Funny you mention that. I asked the guy where he kept the 8mm Mauser. He looked at me like I had 3 heads.
Don't even try to make a play for my Luger. Untouchable.
But...you guys will have first crack at some of my k98s within the next week or two. You need a respite from all that trashy communist & jihadist Egyptian flavor you're stashing in your desert adobe.
I couldn't find the 9mm brass. The Luger kicks it a country mile. The 1911 plops it neatly at my feet though. It all looks healthy. No splits. No stress. Nothing I wouldn't load again. It's definitely once fired brass before manufacture. It's all Federal and Blazer brass.
lol
