I noticed an explanation that  the plastic- vynal sheet found in the chest pouch with oil bottle was to wrap the oil bottle. It is actually a small mat to use when cleaning your weapon

Interesting, I kind of suspected as much...My first rig didn't have one, but couple older ones have it. I suppose you could use it for both purposes, should you have a leaky bottle...

There isn't really much to see, it's just a unfolded napkin sized piece of green vinyl.

This reminds me though...does anyone know about these cardboard inserts I see on eBay supposedly to sleeve two stripper clips inside the chest rig pockets?  They seem like they would stiffen things up, and perhaps prevent the occasional round slipping off.  I haven't seen anything anywhere else regarding them.

I washed chest rig and stuffed pockets with newspaper pieces. That kind of streched and formed pockets in right shape when it dried. Round or two still fall off, but it is much better now.
