I'm down to my last two Chinese SKS56 rifles.  I want to just keep one "representative example" of the SKS56 in my collection.

Here are the tow contenders for the spot:
1) new in the box "time capsule" with all original accessories and KSPORTs box.  This one is made by the /26\ arsenal

2) [0141] Public Security marked SKS56.  This one has a threaded barrel and stamped trigger housing.  Condition is not new, but very nice.  I've shot this one and it's a great shooter.

IF... it's all matching, gotta be either a 9 or 10 mil...

I'd say if the /26\ is ALL matching, hold on to that one. There are only original once, and the PS you have has already been modified.

I can't vote because I can't find the "keep both" option.

  The NIB '65 /26\ K-Sports import w/accessories and box would be the one I'd keep. But, that's if you're going to leave it unfired. As martin08 suggested, if you're going to use one as a shooter, sell the '65 /26\ to a collector and use the /0140\ PS as your shooter. Your /0140\ looks to be one of the nicer /0140\ PS rifles that I've seen. For whatever reason, many of the /0140\ PS guns are rough. Maybe was just the previous owners' lack of care, dunno.

Ah....1 of the reasons I love the chinese SKS...

Now if you had 2 10 mill /26\'s of course keep the 1 with box and accs. If you had 2 PS rifles...the nicer of the 2.

But what you have here, are 2 different animals. So...you must keep both as representatives  :))

Fit and finish of that /26\ is head and shoulders above the [0141] PS.   I'd keep the /26\ if I was only keeping one of them.  thumb1

Depends..think1  if one needs money and wants a shooter to play with. keep the PS one, sell the loaded boxed one for a chunk of change.. if one don't need the dollars and wants a possible unfired collectible, dump the PS.

Me... Screw it.. in keeping both your not out of anything but space, they cost nothing to keep, they are both paid for and in your possession.  Both are very nice examples most would be proud to have in my book.

So.. my question.. what's the end game.. to aquire funds for something else, just liquidating, moving on, or for another reason, freeing up space?

Sorry, you said threaded barrel, I was thinking the muzzle was threaded, and the one side of that muzzle has lines on it that looked like threads.

It's a toss up. They are both nice. The PS looks to be in better shape.

Due to a growing collection and interest in a wide variety of military firearms, I realized that I need to try to only keep 1 representative example of a particular platform.  While I do appreciate the subtle differences in these (and other) military rifles, I'd rather own a wide variety of different firearms rather than multiples of the same.   Normally I'd tend to keep the shooter, but I am keeping a shooter SKS 59/66 and a SKS45 that I can take to the range.

Alrighty then..if one must go.... you have a shooter SKS45.. it's not any different than shooting a Type56.. keep the boxed unfired one, sell the PS, enjoy the unfired goodness.  If your a hardcore shooter, that has OCD and has to fire everything, and just wanting shootable representations, keep the PS.  thumb1

I would keep them both AND buy more..!!..Both guns are REALLY nice...I have a /26\ 11mil (1966) that is in excellent non-refurbed condition. Paid $250 for it out the door at a little gun and pawn shop in southern Mississippi..In the middle of nowhere...LOL...It still had cosmo all over the outside and inside..Shoots very well with 124gr Golden Tigers FMJBT....

Decision, decisions...Keep both. PAX
