Here is my favorite semi auto by far. The M65 was not US Property marked, but luckily we know ALL were bought and sold to the USMC as a trainer for their M50, and M55 sub machine-guns in .45acp. thumb1 There was also a M60 that was a semi-auto version of the M50 in .45acp that was used by police and prison guards. thumb1
After ww2 they came out with a similar sized version also with redfield peep sights and called it the Model 165 Leatherneck, and they are indeed stamped 165 Leatherneck. Then about a decade later they released another (smaller) version called the Model 150 and a Model 151 Leatherneck and so they are marked. The 150 had regular leaf/post sights, and the 151 had a rear peep and post.
These rifles did away with having to remove your trigger hand from the rifle and basically un-shoulder the weapon to charge the first round. These unique rifles (like the M50 and M55) machine guns were made with a plunger located within the bottom fore-stock that you simply depressed with your left index finger. You can keep the weapon shouldered and change mags, and charge the rifle with you left hand.
Anyhow.... here is the big daddy M65 USMC trainer, and as an added bonus I put the smaller 151 next to it. ;)

Really nice! thumb1 8)
Were these essentially the same stock, length and weight etc. as Papa Reising in .45ACP?
The military trainer M65 and the later civilian 165 are. The 150 and 151 are a good bit lighter. I do believe the LOP mirrors the papa 50, 55, and 60.
nice, thanks for sharing. thumb1
Mine isn’t US Property but definitely fun to shoot 🫡
