Appears to be in top notch condition. Regardless of the importer, I think you scored.

True.....the seller wrote me back and informed me that it did indeed say Cherry's.....(and all the other info that followed it.) I couldn't be happier. Not sure what year it is, but it doesn't matter to me. With the number of Yugo's running around that look like boat paddles....this one is nice.

That's going to be an N prefix from '77 if the receiver number matches the TG and bolt carrier.  Nice pickup Pat, good eye and awareness  on thinking it might be a Cherry's import!  thumb1

Looks like an N block ca. 1977, based on the serial data. Still C&R of course, even though it's only 40 years old.

Yep. Ya scored. Ridiculous price for a rifle that nice.

The mis-matched, bulk refurb beaters in crates have been overrunning the shows for the past year and a half-- all dinged, dented,  scractched, worn and greasy--  in the $425-499 price range.

I am not a fan of the 59/66-- not at all-- but for that price and in that condition I would not have hesitated. I might've held onto it for a few months til I had an opportunity to make a really good trade.

Nice get.

Of course, I like my boat paddles in all sorts of conditions.   :)

Thanks....I looked at that blurry picture of the importer area for about 20 minutes.....pulled up a pic of a clear Cherry's import stamp and then compared stamp block size and overall spacing.....I was about 90% sure....and the overall condition....I knew it would not last long before someone else snagged it. I haven't bought anything in a short while.... Also, I noticed other Cherry's import pictures that had the exact booklet and overall accessories with them as well........mmmm-mmmm....love me the smell of a cosmo packed yugo.... chuckles1

Nice aquisition, Pat! Looks like you got a great deal!  thumb1

Pat, when you receive your Cherry's import and you're looking it over, check to see if yours has a highly polished chrome Gas Piston. (end-to-end mirror polished, with the Yugo part number still untouched)  I wondered at first if the previous owner of mine hadn't done it as an "improvement", but the Yugo part number is still clear and not changed due to buffing.  I hadn't noticed it until recently. Heck, that may be the standard on all of them? I haven't checked.

Any other Cherry's import Yugo M59/66 owners notice this on theirs? I'm curious as to whether Cherry's did this or was it a normal thing for the year Yugo 59/66 that I have? (my Cherry's SN: N 555983). Thanks!

Nice gun. I bought one just like this (1983) for $500.00 out the door. I didn't care what it costs because I have been looking for an unfired M59/66 for some time..Good find and really nice gun...!! EXACTLY like mine... 8)
